Billikens make a difference in communities near and far. Read about just a few Saint Louis University graduates making an impact.

Andy Irakoze (A&S '22, GRAD SSE '23) joined Moii Coffee as co-founder and chief technology officer this summer. Moii Coffee began with Firaol Ahmed, a senior in the  Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business, selling coffee out of his residence hall at SLU. It has grown into a supply chain and logistics firm connecting coffee farmers in Africa with roasters in North America.

Sharee (Brown) Silerio (A&S ’09) is a filmmaker and field producer for Breakwater Studios, which focuses on short-form documentaries, including The Last Repair Shop. Her career in film might be traced to her time at Saint Louis University, where she took film classes and wrote her first screenplay.

From the NFL to NCAA, Chris Ackels (A&S '13) has seen it all. He announced for every major professional sport (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS) and NCAA football and basketball before turning 30. Currently, he works as the special assistant to Clark Hunt, chairman and CEO of the Kansas City Chiefs, specializing in the Hunt Sports Group’s communications strategy while building relationships with media and charitable organizations.

The indelible mark Mary Bruemmer (A&S ‘42, ‘60) made on Saint Louis University in her more than 100 years of life can be found all across campus — from the Bruemmer Conference Room in DuBourg Hall to Bruemmer Plaza outside Spring Hall or the two campus statues dedicated in her name.
