Employee Well-being

Saint Louis University Human Resources offers wellness programs to SLU faculty and staff encompassing physical, financial, spiritual, intellectual and emotional/social well-being.

Medical Premium Discount

SLU requires a biometric screening for anyone who wishes to receive a wellness premium discount in 2024. The wellness discount is $60 off their monthly medical premiums for an employee and an additional $30 for covered spouses.

Your screening will include blood pressure, glucose, hemoglobin A1C (a measurement of your average blood sugar over the past three months), and a cholesterol screening (HDL, LDL, and triglycerides).

Note: For the glucose and cholesterol testing, you must fast for eight hours prior to your screening appointment. This means nothing to eat or drink except for water. Take your medications as normal with water.

Saint Louis University partners with Quest Diagnostics to complete the biometric screening requirement. If you need further assistance, please contact the Quest Service Center at 855-623-9355.

September Employee Well-being

Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness of this stigmatized and often taboo topic. We use this month to shift public perception, spread hope and share vital information to people affected by suicide. Our goal is to ensure that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and seek help. Please be aware of the resources we have available at SLU.

  • If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, call or
    text 988 immediately.
  • If you are uncomfortable talking on the phone, you can chat the Suicide and Crisis
    Lifeline at 988lifeline.org.
  • You can also text NAMI to 741-741 to connect to a free, trained crisis counselor on the crisis text line.
  • ComPsych provides confidential professional counseling at no cost to SLU staff, faculty, and their families who are coping with a personal or family crisis.
