Faculty and Staff Funding
SLU’s Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) is a clearinghouse for all solicitations to private foundations and corporations from the University and its representatives.
The CFR team acts as a hub and representative for the entire University. CFR staff
works closely with faculty, the Office of Research and Development Services.
The CFR office works on opportunities with private foundations and corporations —
not on government funding opportunities. Funding requests should not be sent to corporations
or foundations without consulting the CFR office.
What is a Managed Foundation?
A managed foundation is a foundation with close ties to the University. Foundations set restrictions on applications, waiting periods and other limitations that are unique to their foundation. The CFR team stays up-to-date on any changes to individual foundation requirements and preferences.
Looking for Funding?
When faculty collaborate with SLU's Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations on funding proposals, there are many benefits: SLU avoids submitting multiple requests from throughout campus, faculty gain insider information and access to funder research, and CFR staff share their rolodex and decades of combined grant writing and fundraising experience.
